A real race, up close

The race sim runs all morning. Solo, doubles and Pro, full distance, judges on every station. Watching one is the fastest way to work out whether you fancy it.

Come for an hour or stay for the morning. Bring the kids, bring your mum, bring the mate who keeps saying they should get back into it.

Have a look at the turf, the sleds and the rigs, and talk to the coaches without anybody selling you anything.

This is the room you would be training in.

Sprint lanes down the middle, a full rig, sleds, rowers and skis, and enough space that nobody is queuing for a bench. Two minutes off the M1 at Southport.

Before you come

You will not be the only one who is new.

That is a normal weekday morning here. No race, no crowd. Everyone in that clip started somewhere, and most of them started nervous.

Who you will meet

The K, the V and the Z.

Katelin Van Zyl. Her initials are on the front of the building, which is a fair bit of pressure to put on yourself. She races Hyrox, she coaches most of what happens on that floor, and she will be there all morning.

Her co-founder Jacquie runs everything that is not the floor, and will be there too.

Come and say hello. Ask the daft questions. Nobody is going to put you on a mailing list or walk you into a sales room, because we do not have one.

If you have been meaning to get back into it, this is the easiest possible day to start.

Entirely up to you, and it is free either way. It helps us sort parking, coffee and space, and it means we can send you the running order the day before so you know when the good bits are on.

Fancy having a go instead of watching?

There is a Beginners division built for a first one: half distance runs, the same eight stations as everybody else, the lighter weights. You do not need to be a member.
